Community guidelines
Last updated: May 2026
maghribi.org is a community of Moroccans and friends-of-Morocco spread across the world. These are the principles that keep it useful and kind.
1. Be useful, be specific
The best posts answer a real question or share a real recommendation. “Best Moroccan grocer in the 18ème?” with three concrete names is worth more than a thousand vague hot-takes.
2. Be kind, even when you disagree
Disagreement is welcome. Personal attacks, harassment, slurs and gatekeeping who counts as “real” Moroccan are not.
3. Stay on-topic for the space
Each country space is for that community's daily life — housing, food, work, paperwork, events, networking. Use Global for cross-border conversations like returning home, news, and politics.
4. No spam, no scams
No mass DMs. No off-platform money requests. Job posts go in the Jobs category and must include a real company, a real role, and a way to apply. Housing posts must be a real listing, not a referral funnel.
5. Respect privacy
Don't share other members' phone numbers, addresses, or immigration status without their permission. Screenshots of private DMs belong in private channels, not the feed.
6. Report, don't flame
If a post breaks these rules, use the report button (the ⋮ menu on each post). Our moderators read every report. Public call-outs rarely help.
What happens when a post is reported
- A moderator from your country space reviews the report — usually within 24 hours.
- They decide: dismiss (no action), warn the author, hide the post, or — for repeat or severe violations — remove the author from the space.
- The reporter and the author both see the outcome.
We will update these guidelines as the community grows. The principles will not change.
