Terms of use

Last updated: 24 May 2026

These terms govern your use of maghribi.org. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. Please read carefully — they contain practical rules, your rights, and our responsibilities.

1. What maghribi.org is

maghribi.org is a community platform for the Moroccan diaspora and for Moroccans living in Morocco. We provide the technical infrastructure — country spaces, posts, events, pages, messaging, sports hub. Members provide the content and the conversations.

Membership is free. We do not charge for accounts and do not run ads. The platform is funded by a small number of founding sponsors and, starting in 2026-Q4, optional paid features for organisations.

2. Eligibility

You must be 16 years old or older to create an account. If you are between 16 and 18, you may need parental consent depending on the law of the country you live in.

3. Your account

  • You may have one personal account. Organisations (associations, NGOs, schools, embassies, sports teams, etc.) get their own Page entity — operated by one or more verified admins.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation.
  • You agree to provide accurate information (name, country of residence, identity declaration). Impersonation, false identities, and misleading affiliations are prohibited.
  • You can close your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data on deletion.

4. Acceptable use

The short version: be kind, be honest, do not break the law.

You may not:

  • Harass, threaten, or incite violence against any person or group — including by ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, political opinion, or nationality.
  • Post hate speech, defamation, doxxing, or content that targets a person in a way that would be unlawful where they live or where you live.
  • Post pornographic, graphically violent, or other content inappropriate for a general-audience platform.
  • Send spam, scams, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or unsolicited commercial messages outside the designated Jobs and Businesses surfaces.
  • Impersonate another person, organisation, or maghribi.org staff.
  • Scrape, mirror, or reverse-engineer the service in ways that affect its operation. Automated reading of public content for research or accessibility purposes is permitted with reasonable rate-limits.
  • Use the service to violate intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties.

Full details live in the Community Guidelines. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules. We aim to explain when we do, and provide an appeal route via appeal@maghribi.org.

5. Content ownership

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting on maghribi.org, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display your content as needed to operate the service. This licence ends when you delete the content — except where the content was shared in a way that makes deletion impossible (e.g. someone screenshotted a public post).

Content you post in public spaces (Global feed, verified Page posts) may be displayed to people outside the platform who follow a shared link. Content you post in country spaces is only visible to members.

6. Content from us

Where we provide editorial content (the Atlas Lions historical archive, Game Time match data, cultural calendar), it remains owned by us and by our data partners (football-data.org, API-Football). You may quote or link to it freely; please do not republish in bulk without our written permission.

7. No payments in-app

maghribi.org does not handle payments inside the product. Donations to NGOs, mosque collections, page subscriptions, and similar flows always redirect to the organisation's own website. We do not see the amount, the card, or the transaction — we only record that a click happened, for the page owner's benefit.

8. Verification and Pages

Some Pages (embassies, consulates, official institutions) carry a “Verified” badge after we confirm the page admin is authorised to represent the organisation. Verification is not an endorsement — it is only a statement that the page is operated by the organisation it claims to represent.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate these terms, with notice where practical. On termination by us, you will be informed and offered the opportunity to export your data.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee zero downtime, zero bugs, or that every piece of community content is accurate. Community members' posts represent their own views — not those of maghribi.org.

Editorial sport data (matches, scores, fixtures) is sourced from third-party APIs and may occasionally be delayed or contain errors. Always verify time-sensitive information via official channels.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, maghribi.org is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any direct damages is capped at the greater of €100 or the total amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (typically zero, as the service is free).

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law for members residing in the EU/EEA, and by Moroccan law for members residing in Morocco. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the member's country of residence. Nothing in this clause prevents you from raising a complaint with a consumer-protection authority where applicable.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced to signed-in members at least 30 days before they take effect. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
